it's gonna be > 95°F next week in Portland, with high winds, and no rain for the last few weeks. there will also be thousands of people with fireworks and no regard for safety.

so this weekend is you Portlanders' last chance to get some air filters before some goober fucks it up for millions of people across the northern hemisphere.

@est Portland has banned fireworks completely. It was noticeably less last year. Funny how people will mostly obey ban but not limit on types of fireworks.

I'm annoyed that end cap of my Mini Maglite flashlight is stuck. I've already messed it up paint trying to use pliers.

I was reading that this is caused by battery leaking. Which means it is already dead.

I care about it because I've had it a long time. So old that I converted it from bulb to LED. I might keep it for sentimental reasons.

People hate Facebook but the groups can be good. My local native plant gardening group is delightful. The only problem is that get too many notifications for all of the useful comments.

I don't think Mastodon does private groups. I think there is a space for open, federated groups that compete with Facebook.

The nice thing is that can be done group by group. And each instance is more separate since there can be parent for group.
