For real we pay an ISP for internet access, they collect government grants (our money again) to lay infrastructure (poorly and behind everyone else), and they want to charge us more for access to certain sites while also charging the sites more? Ridiculous. Way too many pulls at the fountain.
Everyone got spoiled by the historically low interest rates and forgot that meteoric growth is not sustainable when money isn’t functionally free to borrow. We have a whole generation of C-suite execs who only know cheap borrowing and have no stomach for making anything less than unsustainable profit margins.
I think I’ve always in the back of my mind kind of liked it, but as a child of the 90s and a guy it was a little harder to openly express it. The last few years I’ve been asking people for recommendations on romance novels because it’s a genre i have entirely skipped due to gender norms and the reputation the genre gets. Also try to openly discuss Anse that I’ve liked in media. It’s been an interesting experiment. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the romance genre now, but I have read one or two that I did enjoy and it’s fun to read something steamy every now and then haha
I’ve always struggled with anime because a lot of that horniness is in the context of “everybody is in school uniforms and acts like they are 15 but it’s not clear what the reality is.” Or at least the stuff I’ve seen. It makes me very uncomfortable and it makes it hard to recommend shows to people.

I had the police enter my home once unannounced about 10 or 11 years ago. They just started shining flashlight and walking into my apartment and announced themselves when they were already through the threshold. 2am, I’m bleary eyed with my partner there. I started screaming at them and luckily nothing happened (luckily = I’m a white dude and there was a whiten woman scared next to me).

No one here is saying this absolves him/us of the US’s role in Israel’s horrific actions. But there are protests happening, people are saying this needs to stop, and a shipment of bombs just stopped. That happened, and it’s worth noting. So we need to keep up the pressure to get this to stop entirely.
