I think the biggest thing we need to figure out is how to make it sound easier than people say it is. People get too hung up on the technicalities of how the fediverse works, and they never try it out and see that it isn't as confusing as it sounds. If we could write up a simple blurb to help promote kbin to subreddit moderators...
Explaining how to subscribe to magazines from difference instances would help. I originally joined another instance but it was mostly in another language and I couldn't figure out how to subscribe to magazines in this instance, so I joined this one.
I think that will only happen if the lack of moderation tools causes the quality of content to plummet, as someone earlier in the thread predicted. The majority of users do not use third party apps (with many not even knowing these apps existed) so that part of the issue has no effect on them.
We need devs of third-party apps for Reddit to make apps for kbin
In addition to asking devs of third-party apps for Reddit to make one for Lemmy, why wouldn't we ask them the same for kbin?
How can we smooth out the migration and help promote kbin/lemmy to subreddits and redditors?

I know it's wishful thinking but I really hope all the media coverage of the protests will tank Reddits upcoming IPO.
