Honestly they don't sound like great people, or particularly intellectually curious - you explained it well, there's no reason for them to be caricaturing it as nerd stuff. Especially since they're on Reddit. I wouldn't worry about them.

Still can't figure out if it would be a good thing or a bad thing to post the same threads in both of them😭 I love the idea of federation, but I'm still at the stage where it's all really confusing...

He was really done dirty by TVR - the song wasn't one of my favourites but he's obviously talented, it's almost like they sabotaged him on purpose (although I'm not sure why they'd do that). It's grim, so I'm glad he's angry and speaking out about it all.

It definitely seems possible. The thing is they could have had a cheap but good staging! He was a guest act on the moldovan NF and there wasn't really any stging, he was actually dressed well for once, it was the most effective performance of that song I've seen - they could have just gone minimalistic and it would have been fine... but instead they chose chaos

It's really nice, and good on you for dressing for the occasion - it made the place so much more colourful and fun. I kinda wish I'd done something like that, in retrospect:/

IMO there aren't any massive surprises here, but that's not a bad thing - this year had some really strong national finals and I reckon at least half of these songs are brilliant :D

I'm going to predict the top 5, in no particular order: 🇸🇪 🇳🇴 🇮🇹 🇫🇮 🇧🇪

My top 5: 🇫🇮 🇮🇹 🇭🇷 🇵🇱 🇷🇸 (honourable mentions to 🇷🇴 and 🇮🇸 for being really fun)

I'm rooting for Ylivoimainen🙏 OGAE does tend to like female artists and Swedish entries, but they're not completely predictable... I guess we'll find out later in the year🤷‍♀️

So according to Discord they've replaced "talent, drive and ambition" with "ambition, stagecraft, vocal ability, and confidence" in the submission guidelines😭

I guess they're trying to learn from the disaster of an NF they had this year, but it's not really the performers who were the problem. Some of them had potential! If RTÉ had invested in a bit of artist development - vocal coaching, getting comfortable with the cameras, etc - they could have had something good on their hands. But that's a different timeline...

Also: why do they only want MP3s in 192kbps?
