I keep seeing everyone say their privacy is why they aren’t going to use threads. I don’t think that’s entirely true. I think most of us here have a hatred so deep for meta that even if they made the greatest app on earth, we’d still not use it. So, if threads actually respected your privacy would you use it?
We all either love horror films, or hate horror films. What's that film that kept you up at night? The one that you re-watch all the time? The one that made you groan at 'the big reveal'?...
Favourites (in no particular order):
The thing
The VVitch
Under the shadow
the shrine
Kairo (Pulse)
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
Disliked:
It Follows - i liked the concept...didn't really enjoy the second half of the movie though
Lake Mungo - i had to watch it 3 times because i kept falling asleep during it
upper right corner below your username click the little gear icon next to the federation icon. should show themes, font size and a large list of things you can change.
I tried looking around for a changelog but I couldn't find one anywhere (let me know if you know where it is, I know you can look at the commits/merged PRs on Codeberg but there's a lot to dig through)....
No, I'm fine with puns if they're good and I think they have their place. The problem was that people would make dumb puns and jokes to karma farm instead of engaging in what could have been an interesting conversation in a lot of circumstances.
Haha, you're good, mate. I don't actually hate puns, i just found them to be annoying when I was trying to ask questions and people would make huge threads of puns instead of contributing to the conversation. I wouldn't get annoyed with a pun centred magazine, because that's what the magazine is about
@pollodiabolo - this user is a karma whore of epic proportions and they have made a shit load (10-15+) accounts on kbin that boost and upvote each other while sometimes mass downvoting others that have posts trending towards the top - all to farm karma....
I think you could make a small amount of money for selling a reddit account with high karma...but that's the only thing I ever heard of it being useful for.
They can definitely be pretty mean. I knew a guy who had one and she would bite every person who came over who wasn't a man. She tried to bite me, but I was wearing my winter coat. She bit women and any child that came around, but she was very fond of men with beards for some reason... Birds are weird sometimes.
Like many people I'm here because of reddit going to shit. Twitter has increasingly been shit. gycat is shutting down in September. To me it seems like lots of bastions of social media are crumpling, but as a previous active reddit user, I've been personally effected. Is this just a frequency illusion or has something changed...
I had a couple classmates that pretended to be vampires back in elementary and middle school. They’d pretend their Koolaid was blood, complain about the sunlight, and bite their friends a lot. Not enough to draw blood, though. I haven’t kept up with most of them, but one guy is a teacher now. He seems pretty normal.
My first girlfriend was one of those cat girls. We were like 13 when we started dating. She was really unstable and ended up going to jail twice long after we broke up. I sure know how to pick them lol. In my defense, she was the only lesbian I knew at the time.
When I joined a couple days ago, it worked immediately when someone responded to me. Now, it's either delayed by a couple hours or doesn't work at all. It's probably low on their priority list right now, but I hope it gets fixed eventually.
Far-right figures, including Nazi supporters, anti-gay extremists, and white supremacists, are flocking to Threads (www.mediamatters.org)
Would you use threads if it respected your privacy?

Kbin: What is your favourite (or least favourite) horror film?
We all either love horror films, or hate horror films. What's that film that kept you up at night? The one that you re-watch all the time? The one that made you groan at 'the big reveal'?...
Can we just appreciate the new design
This new design looks so much cleaner and polished. As a huge fan of the catppuccin theme, I really enjoy the newly added Tokyo Night theme....
Loving the new updates, but what all has changed?
I tried looking around for a changelog but I couldn't find one anywhere (let me know if you know where it is, I know you can look at the commits/merged PRs on Codeberg but there's a lot to dig through)....
What from reddit do you hope to never see on lemmy?
i can’t stand megathreads – no one reads these! no one wants their posts banished there!
All ready for the 4th. Design chosen by my 7 year old, turning 8 on the 4th.
Call out post for a particular karma farmer on kbin.social

Are lots of websites really going downhill and/or closing or does it just seem like it to me?

Did you ever have a classmate that pretended to be a vampire or some other supernatural creature? How much did they commit to it?

Kbin.social passes 50K users (fedidb.org)
Two weeks after 30K users we reach 50K...
Pt.2 of the Kbird mascot. Thoughts on these two designs?
Again, based on @FixedFun 's original designs so creds to them for the idea....
How did Lemmy.world become more popular than Lemmy.ml?
I don’t understand how Lemmy.world developers managed to surpass both Lemmy.ml and Beehaw.org instances in user activity.
