I rent a unit (492 sq ft) for $1,250 a month, utilities included. It's a one bedroom apartment, smack dab in the centre of Calgary's downtown.

I had a 15% increase in my rent last September.

And I fully expect another 15% increase when my lease is up in October.

I... think I'm lucky, though.

Why?

New tenants, pictured in a screenshot below, are asked to pay up to $4,200 a month, utilities not included.
