ARMY Charting BTS Hits During Their Military Service

Koreaboo reports that BTS' Spring Day has dethroned Mariah Carey's perennial holiday charttopper All I Want For Christmas Is You on US iTunes today, December 12, 2023. This coincides with the military enlistment of the last two BTS members, Jimin and Jungkook, who applied under the buddy soldier system. This may also be a result of organic ARMY action as a result of their reactions to the military enlistment. The 2017 hit has been the longest-charting song on the Melon Chart since its release 6 years ago. As of this writing, Spring Day is #1 on iTunes in 68 countries (photo below, from music charts aggregator kworb.net).

There are currently plans from different ARMY groups on X.com to chart old BTS albums/songs for next year. There is Project Bulletproof and there is The Whale Project.

@pixiecata I’m beyond the moon. I chipped in and bought Spring Day today. We unseated Mariah Carey during Christmas and that’s huge here in the US! Go Army!
