One of the reasons I dislike digital camera-based film scanning rigs: I have access to a Fuji Frontier (and a Noritsu LS-600, as well as a Imacon 848) at my local darkroom. It’s so.. nice
I never want to own or maintain one of these, but I want to keep using them. Auto film advance, and no edits after scanning even for JPGs!
@rexbron@jake Yep. I will consider that if I decide to spend $3000 - $30 000 for one of these scanners too! (Seriously I’m glad this guy does that for all of us)

I used to be the technician for the film scanners at a university and it was a joy - we had a pair (maybe 3?) of Hasselblad Flextights that were my favourites ♥️
Don’t get me wrong, if I lived somewhere without access to this, a camera-based scanning rig would be best! But even for 20-30 year old scanners, I find their quality, ease of use and workflow to be exceptional.
I also don’t like fiddling with more cameras and light tables and tripods and copy stands and the whole edit flow. The pro scanners let me do 8 rolls, with edits, in an hour
