Sources: San Diego State gave the Mountain West written notice this week that the school “intends to resign from the Mountain West.” SDSU asked the Mountain West for a “one-month extension given unforeseen delays involving other collegiate athletic conferences beyond our control.”
I don't think B12 is making moves until PAC or ACC falls. Adding USF or Memphis doesn't bring in any additional revenue to the pot. They're sitting pretty in that none of their teams are "desirable" enough to poach, but they exist in a tier above the G5.
USF's newly announced 1/3 of a billion US dollar$ on campus stadium plus their new AAU affiliation adds some weight to them. They were Big East before the BE split.
Hello fellow Big 12 compatriot, I'm a Houston fan, and even though we're super happy to be in the conference now, to me, it feels like the conference got diluted a bit. I agree, we should definitely not be looking to bring in more Gof5 members, and instead look to pick of the pieces from conferences that don't like the Gof5 member expansion in the Pac-12 or ACC and bolt. I doubt SEC and Big Ten are looking to pick more up right now, so it's gotta be us at that point.
