@trabex Few people really understand the cause of the Great Depression. It was kicked off by a spike in coal prices, wherein the cost of extracting it became more than it was worth.
Oil hadn't come on line yet. We had a war that killed over 60 million people. Then, oil came on line domestically after we figured out how to fuel our militaries with it. Boom times for a while. The boom is obviously over.
There's nothing waiting in the wings to replace it.
