Ha, I hadn’t seen that. Definitely agree that it’s absurd. The time to heat is a bit off putting due to the butane being a limitation.. but maybe it’s reasonable if you’re not using it all of the time.
my parents did the same, kind off. we still have a regular senseo with pads but in the weekends i'm always the person who made coffee for the entire house since they thought me how to do it.
The family drinks percolated and I’m only satisfied with a good espresso.. these little brewers do the trick. Mine gives about 2 shots worth which is perfect.
Couple that with a view and that’s my happy place ✌️
James Hoffman did a good video a few years ago. The lower end has continued to see new products, its a good time to be into coffee :D
Personally I have a V1 Fellow Ode. It works well with the original burrs for V60 and Aeropress grinds. Though it would be crap for any espresso. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgjvLQu5NlE
It seems that all the tested beans were in the darker range, which of course works for many if not most people. I love baratza grinders for what they provide at their price point. I'm happy to see the encore with finer adjustments!
I wouldn't recommend for anyone who has a taste for lighter roasted coffees (eg filter roasts) on espresso. You need more consistency and longer grinding paths for consistent extractions in this case.
