In 1969, an American soul group based out of D.C. recorded the song "Amen, Brother". Halfway-ish through the track, the band pauses to let the drummer, G.C. Coleman, perform a solo. This 7 second solo went on to influence (or outright create) , , , , and much more.

They were The Winstons, they created the Amen Break that completely changed modern music, and they got next to nothing for it.
