If anyone is interested in the subject, I recommend checking out The Faithful Executioner by Joel F. Harrington. It’s the biography of a 16th century German executioner with lots of cultural info and details from his own journal.
Do we have a translation for the engraving? The closest I’m able to get anything out of is Latin(using online translators, and trying the V-for-U swap in places), which is coming out to “And the world is flesh”, which I’m assuming is wrong(I also have no clue what I’m doing).
