I was added to a 400 person queer women in Singapore group chat; a fair number of people on there were my exes; many more had dated or were dating my exes; 3 people offered to bring me sambal and spices when they visit San Francisco next; and I got an offer to help me publish a photo zine. The rest of them were younger people I never met.

All within the first 12 hours! (Of course, I was added by someone whose heart I unfortunately broke, during my fuckboi era)

When Sabrena and I got married in Auckland she asked one of our wedding witnesses how we knew each other. She was like ‘uh I used to date Adrianna’s ex’s current gf’ (I totally forgot / actually hadn’t made the connection) (it was the ex I got cookie with.. 15 years ago)

I mean stuff like this is just so common lol it’s more rare when someone isn’t connected in this way

@skinnylatte Hah! I recently wrote about that old Rita Mae Brown poem Sappho’s Reply which ends “An army of lovers shall not fail.”

I remarked to a friend that lesbians used to alter that line to read: “An army of ex-lovers shall not fail.”

@thorncoyle ahahahaha indeed!!

I like telling straight people that the vast majority of people who give me Strava ‘kudos’ on my workouts were former romantic rivals or partners
