Supreme Court rules against North Carolina Republicans over election law theory

SCOTUS has ruled 6-3 that state legislature district drawing actions can be reviewed by state courts, and those judgements of state courts can be reviewed by federal ones. A surprise decision to see Kavanaugh and Barrett reject the independent state legislature theory, since they seemed to be supportive of it.
