Toronto City Council Allows Alcohol in Certain Parks (From August 2nd to Oct 9)

This passed today, after 4 more parks were added to the list.

Vincent Crisanti, Stephen Holyday, Frances Nunziata and, James Pasternak voted against it, Gary Crawford was absent. Every other councillor voted for it.

The parks added to the list were

• McCleary Park, Ward 14 - Toronto-Danforth, 755 Lake Shore Boulevard East
• Oriole Park, Ward 12, Toronto - St. Paul's, 201 Oriole Parkway;
• Hillcrest Park, Ward 12, Toronto - St. Paul's, 950 Davenport Road;
• Cedarvale Park, Ward 12, Toronto - St. Paul's, 443 Arlington Avenue; and
• June Rowlands Park, Ward 12, Toronto - St. Paul's, 220 Davisville Avenue.

Stephen Holyday also moved an amendment through to have the city design a "no alcohol" sign that could be published in parks not on the list at the request of the local councillor.
