Renneder,

AI: In a study of 163,250 Korean women without cardiovascular disease, infection with high-solution human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) was found to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease mortality. Over 17 years of follow-up, the mortality rate from CVD was 3.9 times higher for women with HR-HPV compared with those who did not have this infection. This association was particularly strong in obese individuals and resulted in an increased risk of mortality from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and coronary heart disease.
