Hi and welcome!...
Hi and welcome!...
As I assisted unloading a HIAB truck, a Southern Hawker flew near. The lifting-arm operator and the others were on the far side of the truck. For a glittering moment of stillness the dragonfly hovered, studying me as I studied it. No-one else saw. Then the world resumed and the dragonfly was gone.
For me it was rescuing a little bee buddy from a spider. It buzzed like crazy on my palm, getting rid of the web and finally flying away....
I have recently (re)discovered ice-cold showers. The most obvious advantage is you feel refreshed and absolutely energized for quite a while afterward....
It's the best indicator to my mind if my vacation was long enough. If I can still type that thing out and get it right on the first try, I haven't been gone long enough....
Got bites on each of my knuckles, on my joints and wrists. Was itching as heck and I was too tired to really do much about it but scratch and try and get back to sleep. I think it might have only been one of them as well....
Something special about being awake before everyone else is. The world is so nice and quiet.
Needs no brain power and since the content here is much less doom and gloom, it's not so heavy on the mind and soul either.
It really is a good cup of tea.
Just rained directly against my window and was very loud. I don't mind. Nice to have everything cool down again for a few days....
I have become a bit of a sucker for these empty marketing lies where you buy a new pack of the thing you always buy but this time the layout and design is slightly different....
I think it's the first one I've seen this year (not that I recall seeing many last year to be honest), but I'm glad to see there are still some about. Hopefully it's a sign that local biodiversity projects are working out. At any rate, it gives me hope that there might be some more on the way over the next month or so and that...
I hope it's okay to share it here. It's called Walking Through Today and it's just the musings of a man who takes walks every day along the same route through his neighborhood. It's a single volume - 13 chapters - and a half hour or so read....
Took me ages to gain an appreciation for couscous, but now it's one of the larger items (by volume) in my pantry....
Beat the big downpour just an hour later. It was nice and cool, which is great looking at summer becoming hotter and hotter.
Was just half an hour, but it got my feet unscrunched and the blood flowing. It's nice and green, the sun was shining through the trees and I really like the crunching noise of gravel underneath my feet....
Little better than some fresh air after a bunch of overly hot days.
My SO left it and asked me to finish it before it goes bad. I don't like pineapple. It was still pretty good and it's a nice feeling to help avoid food waste....
For me, I saved a little bee-buddy from a spider web. He buzzed all the strings off on my hand, vibrating like crazy and then flew off to be back on his way.
