This seems like it might be an extreme niche nowadays, but how many of you use an HP calculator (graphing or not) in RPN mode? Or, perhaps other calculator apps in RPN mode?

I was introduced to RPN by a civil engineer when I was in college, and I’ve never looked back. However, most other mechanical engineers I know don’t use it.

dm319,

@chrishuck I really enjoy using RPN - it works in the way I think: I get the numbers first, then I figure out what to do with them.

app4soft,

@chrishuck Here are JRPN 15C & JRPN 16C (Jovial Reverse Polish Notation Calculators) — opensource cross-platform simulators of HP-15C & HP-16C with mode.
Both apps available for Android, Linux, Windows, MacOS, iOS and as Web: https://jrpn.jovial.com/
This apps actively maintained.
