This will never stop. It’s too easy of a political target to rally suburban liberal voters.
I personally would like to see concealed carry permits available for self defense in Canada one day, but it will never happen, no matter how many hoops you have to jump through. Self defense just isn’t an interest the Canadian people care about. Neither do they care about sport shooting or hunting, on average. The vast majority of us live in big cities where we have the illusion of safety, and that’s all most people need to restrict the freedoms of law abiding citizens.
