It takes a single click, and then you never see it again. Why deny the utility of something to everyone just because you're personally offended by one user or community? There are plenty of safe places online that have carefully curated content if you wish for centralized control. The whole point of federation is that one person or clique does not make wholesale decisions for everyone on the platform. I'm not certain why you'd even be on the fediverse if what you want is a walled garden.
