Because if you finally decide to take the plunge in the future, that door will be open already and you will have access to the medical assistance that you need.
You may need to lie to the medical gatekeepers or create a false narrative that fits into the definitions of the medical establishment to get that piece of paper, but putting the work in now is so much better than holding it off until later.
