I don’t have any long-term involvement with or knowledge of FMHY beyond finding lemmy.fmhy.ml when I was leaving reddit, agreeing with the community values, and making an account. After a full week of trying to fix this and a few days of running with multiple patches, it seems as though there are still problems with federation. So I’m resorting to crowd sourcing: if you notice any problems interacting with other instances (voting, commenting, posting), or you’re from another one and can’t interact...

The server will be down from 18:00 UTC for possibly one hour (not sure how long exactly) to replace the current docker + compose setup with an ansible setup. This is to hopefully fix any current federation problems, and if not, then to at least eliminate any issues software wise....

What is Defederation?...

Seeing as how the instance is just getting back up, I’m wondering if the stance on defederation is the same or just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I remember before we defederated from exploding-heads. A new one that others have pointed out that should be looked into is rammy.site

Lemmy.fhmy.net is throwing server errors for the last 6-12 hours when I try to visit. What’s up?

I want to move back to the FMHY instance, but I have ~40 communities I need transferred, all on different instances....
