Transgender is when your gender is not the same as your birth sex. And as gender can be not related to sex, it can also not be related to the gender expression, which is as much do you go in masculinity of feminity by social norms. Some trans women will, for exemple, dislike skirts and wear jeans with t-shirt of metal bands. They still are women, but don't care about social norms
i second this. being trans isn't a singular concept or idea. it means many different thing to different people but it generally just means you don't conform with the gender you were assigned at birth.
my personal take on this post is simply that it means people are also trying to reclaim their bodies. some trans men can't access top surgery or don't want it, that doesn't mean they aren't men or trans.
by the reverse logic, some women who get their breast removed after cancer don't get reconstructive surgery. that doesn't mean they aren't women or cis.
