This could well be posturing to push his price up. Or it could be a distraction of some kind while they quietly work on bringing in a younger replacement. But purely from a technical quality perspective he’d be a fantastic backup for Rice, and his for rotating with Jorginho and Elneny for domestic cup matches. That doesn’t take into account certain allegations and the awkwardness/bad PR of having someone in the squad with that baggage though.
Oh no doubt. I actually think it’d be funny if Yanited asked him, but the Glazers aren’t that dumb. Also I think from one of the podcasts, Rooney has mentioned Yanited has an atmosphere that old players aren’t really welcomed.
Putting aside the questions about whether Arsenal Women should be playing in Melbourne on Friday, seeing as they are here, I have my ticket and am looking forward to it.
The funny thing is that NUFC are playing A-League Men as the curtain raiser. It’s going to be a weird atmosphere I think because I imagine most/all Newcastle fans will leave…I’m not getting there early that’s for sure.
Tavares is coming back, Forest hasn’t bought him. It’s amazing how much he’s failed to develop after we signed him. So much raw talent, zero development.
I still think someone needs to bite the bullet and turn him into a winger. Otherwise he’ll be lucky if he ends up in the Championship I think. Which is sad, I like him a lot. But that’s three seasons without nearly any development now.
I was thinking that as well, I mean it’s not like they didn’t make European ball, they’re starting to take for…so yeah whoever is actually in charge have no clue
I think we got lucky with Arteta. This potentially could have been us with a revolving door of managers.
I do think we are run better overall, but who knows what rash decisions the club makes if the team aren’t performing to the standards expected.
McKenna is apparently linked with them. I hope he doesn’t take it if that is the case. But he’s probably going to get a much better contract if he dies.
Since England announces their squad today, who do you think will be the starting XI? Kane, Saka, Rice, Bellingham, Pickford are obviously all getting in, but the rest feel a bit more up for grabs.
Personally hoping for Foden LW and hope he makes it work, but beyond that honestly not really got a clue. Obviously Shaw, Stones, and almost certainly Walker, but who’s the fourth?
I guess we have to get used to this level of ruthlessness if we want the club to perform as well as it can. I like Ramsdale but the interview where he said he and Arteta had to compromise on his positioning- because he wasn’t comfortable with Arteta’s instructuons- is damning.
I trust Arteta, and I trust his judgement on how to play more than Ramsdale, Steve Round, or anyone else for that matter.
