Seems technically feasible, unsure if the owners would want to. Someone could write a bot that provides essentially a read-only export of hacker news so that lemmy/kbin users can at least get a read-only view.
Comments for sure, upvotes sorta, but unless there’s a way to tell the instance that the other instance is read-only, local users can also vote and that will change the count locally on your instance.
