Why are there so few movies with the focus on the beginning of an apocalypse?
Particularly zombie apocalypse, but also more generally as well. Many seem to be about post-apocalypse, but the chaos and confusion at the beginning seems like such a fruitful idea. I just rewatched Creep 2 and I forgot how much I loved it. Hoping for another solid movie.
War horror
Two good movies I've seen recently are Trench 11 (this one is a real hidden gem and can be streamed for free on Tubi), and Overlord. Both are horror/scifi period pieces set in world war 1 and 2 respectively. I love the mixture of gritty realism and fantastical horror and was wondering if anyone had some other recommendations.
