but why?

TVgog56789,

So that’s the 90% of the population that can’t afford private schools or private hospitals can get access to world class services.

tesseract,

I would like my taxes to be spent on public schools and healthcare rather than on vanity projects and neta’s unofficial retirement funds.

turning public schools and healthcare into vanity projects is the stupidest way of wasting public money. Delhi is not investing adequately in the cities’ infra : waste management, power, water supply and sanitation - kejriwāl’s successor will have a lot to say about that.

tesseract,

It’s easy to find faults anywhere. But his government does public service much better than the states ruled by the majority party. Especially given the dictator appointed by the center to block all his powers.

As someone with deep ties and frequent visits to Delhi city, I can categorically state that he is enjoying fruits of work by the central govt, rather than his own government’s contribution. In spite of being in the opposition, the “dictator” is delivering more for dilli than dilli’s own CM.

One bad summer and the city will not just parch, it will scorch - inspite of Powergrid lending all it can to improve cities’ power supply and how badly monsoon has been hitting the city is no secret even to his die hard supporters. Nothing blocks Kejriwal’s powers in water/sanitation, power supply, healthcare, etc. But he has little to show for work, despite claiming that the city has a surplus budget.

Though, how far Delhi’s CM has gone to block funds to MCD, DMRC, NCRTC, etc is matter of public knowledge, well documented even by friendly media - where his govt spends hundreds of crores to advertise.

Do yourself a favour. Just look at data of how many new employees has Kejriwal govt recruited in delhi’s power sector or delhi water services or teachers in delhi schools in its 10 years… or new doctors? For context, Delhi’s unemployment rate is higher than the national average (twice, as per some yardsticks).

TL;DR : Kejriwal is a populist, with little to show on ground as work.

tesseract,

Your dictator has taken powers away from the Delhi government using the LG as a puppet. And then when the supreme court intervened, the dictator went and created a legislation to nullify it - they don’t care for even the rule of law. Just plain usurpers.

And you’re saying they did more for Delhi? I don’t know what any government can do without the power they were promised. Whatever the dictator did for Delhi is only for their own gain. Even the RRTS is named after that megalomaniac.

And the irony in calling Kejriwal a populist is supreme. Need I tell how much the center destroyed the communal fabric of the nation by inflaming religious divides, so that they can hide their failures behind hatred? Have you even listened to the speeches given by these leeches?

Your dictator …

I do not have a dictator.

… has taken powers away from the Delhi government using the LG as a puppet.

Which powers were taken away? And why does dilli have an LG and not a governor?

And then when the supreme court intervened, the dictator went and created a legislation to nullify it - they don’t care for even the rule of law. Just plain usurpers.

UTs like dilli are center’s responsibility under law. Center can choose how they want to rule any UT. Even the unchecked aristocrats sitting in SC can’t curtail powers of the central legislure, and this how Indian democracy works.

And you’re saying they did more for Delhi?

Unequivocally. I am surprised that you have ended that sentence with a question mark.

I don’t know what any government can do without the power they were promised.

“I don’t know” is probably the best summary of what Kejriwal has been doing for Delhi. Even his supporters don’t know. Before him, Sheila Dikshit had done a really good job. It is a pity that she is no longer around to replace crybaby Kejriwal.

Whatever the dictator did for Delhi is only for their own gain. Even the RRTS is named after that megalomaniac.

RRTS isn’t completing in 2024, as Kejriwal stopped Dilli’s share of funds. UP’s portion is long up and running.

And you want Kejriwal’s name on RRTS?

And the irony in calling Kejriwal a populist is supreme.

Kejriwal is a populist. Only thing he has engaged with are emotions of emotional fools. Recall how he was going to put all corrupt govt officers behind bars? After coming to power, he actually advertised that he took 35 govt officers behind bars… only, each one of the 35 was already in jail during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure.

He is a populist do-nothing.

Need I tell how much the center destroyed the communal fabric of the nation by inflaming religious divides, so that they can hide their failures behind hatred? Have you even listened to the speeches given by these leeches?

Everyone knows Kejriwal has friendly media and delhi spends enormously in advertising in other states to reward his friends. Am I supposed to act surprised that you are singing like a parrot full of one-sided propoganda?

TVgog56789,

Modiji is only giving 5 kg rotten food grains to the 810 million poor people.

Then NITI aayog claims they have eliminated extreme poverty.

I suppose that’s the very definition of extreme poverty if you can’t afford to buy your food.

Half of the country is extremely poor.
