Question. I'm new to this instance and it looks like none of my microblogs are federating to Mastodon. I checked multiple main instances like mastodon.social and mstdn.social with nothing listed under my profile. I posted to the random magazine as I should.
For Mbin (and I believe pretty much any federated platform), there has to be at least one person following you on an external server in order for your posts and threads to show up there. For instance, your post from two hours ago is showing up on mstdn.games because GamingWolf from mstdn.games followed you three hours ago. From a quick look at your followers list, it doesn't look like any of them are from mastodon.social or mstdn.social, so that's why your posts aren't showing on those two servers.
Also, if you already have an account on a Mastodon instance, you could follow yourself from there, instead of waiting for another user from that server to follow you.
I think I prefer lowercase. It becomes "Earth-bin" rather than "Earth Bin".
🌎 bin, or Earth-bin, sounds to be like a universal take on the kbin/mbin network. In the end they're both *bins; Replacing the * with 🌎 makes this website 🌎bin.
🌎 Bin, or Earth Bin, sounds to me like a garbage can for the earth.
The difference is obviously not that huge, but that's my intuition at least. :)
Thanks :) I thought Mbin 🌎 sounded a little weird, and the domain is still technically kbin.earth, so I could have stuck with Kbin 🌎, but 🌎 bin is a nice mix.
