Check the sidebar for band subs
More will be added when they pop up
More will be added when they pop up
god, please link them differently so i can go from my local instance
like this:
[Name](/c/communityname@instance.tld)
, this way anyone from any community can click links on the sidebar easily from their local instance. Example: Tenacious D
TheSpermWhale, i think i’ve sorted it, sorry about that
god, hmm, this is the link right now:
seems not sorted :( sry
if u mod me i can play around w it as well & save u the bother. x)
TheSpermWhale, sorry the slayer link was just broken, it is hosted on a different instance, but it should be sorted now i hope lol
god, I tested and this works on my test community’s sidebar:

TheSpermWhale, do the other links work for you?
god, Testing and it works now :)
TheSpermWhale, good, if it didn’t work this time I think i would have had to mod you. I’ll copy it over to all my other subs
god, well if u want some help modding shit u can just add me to anything, i have too much time on my hands and spend an ungodly amount of hours browsing lemmy everyday. i don’t promise to do anything other than deleting spam and fixing broken stuff tho
TheSpermWhale, sure, what do you want added to?
god, this one prolly, i will make a few comms for my fav bands later on and add them to the sidebar. I’ll try and keep up with the metal scene on lemmy and try and bring em here.
TheSpermWhale, sounds good
god, I may also make a Spotify-playlist-to-youtube-link-list tool to add content to a few of the dead subs, idk if that’s good but seems better than empty lol. I wanna make a bot to make it easier to post and keep track of stuff too. Honestly I just fucking love that Lemmy is open source and has a working API unlike Reddit. Got so many ideas and so little time available rn so I’ll take a while to come up with cool shit. Would you be interested in one of these scripts? You can also make requests and I’ll see what I can do that’s within my means.
TheSpermWhale, i’m gonna be honest, I don’t know a huge amount about scripting, but this all sounds good to me and if there’s anything I can do to help, lmk
god, yeah scripting requires learning a tiny bit about it. later on, not now because i don’t know if it’s possible to make the script i talked about, but later on you can help build or find cool playlists that we can iterate through to fill a few of the empty subs. I’d basically run an automation on my server that would post every X hours or days to keep them not-dead.
god, Here you go, this should work:
