part of the problem is that Ron Swanson is portrayed as a likeable character, he’s a liberal fantasy of a conservative with a heart of gold
I do like the concept of the character though. an anti-governnent libertarian who works in government for the sole purpose of ensuring that nothing actually gets done makes for a great satire of conservatives
it’s especially funny since he works for the parks department, one of the most unequivocally good government services. like it’s so evil to block the development of free public spaces that provide recreation and community, of all things. if only the writers weren’t huge libs and actually portrayed him as the villain that he is
His main character flaw is that he’s deeply insecure and emotionally immature. For the entire 6 seasons he’s afraid that people will find out that he plays saxophone because he thinks it will emasculate him. Conservatives don’t recognize this character flaw because they have the same character flaw in themselves.
It would be very funny to me if they decide to kill it before it sees the light of day and the “this is why everyone hates executives” discourse starts. Then they take the bait again and it still bombs.
That’s funny, I’m not really into Marvel at all but I watched this video on Madame Web the other day and it was theorised that was supposed to be a Kraven movie because loads of dialogue has been dubbed over and the script reportedly went through a huge overhaul.
It’s because the movie originally takes place in the 90s and they decided late in shooting to have it actually coincide with the Tom Holland Spiderman so it was changed to take place in 2002. There’s a subplot that goes nowhere with Madam Web’s EMT partner “___ Parker” who’s sister has a kid on the way and we see them as a baby. I guess they had the rights to “Parker” as a last name but not Uncle Ben Parker
Pretty normal actually. Directors and producers try to get all the cash they can get and a lot of governments offer grants for that, usually they require some of the production being filmed in the country giving the funds, for that Vancouver have become a top location for American productions.
Edit: saying “Justin Trudeau’s government” is just an stupid call out, because is not something he would be involved with.
But one person who has seen it is Dan Snyder, the billionaire former owner of the Washington Commanders who is an investor in “The Apprentice.” And he isn’t happy.
Based Doctor “I will treat any patient no matter the cost to the bloated Kelso Regime’s for-profit enterprise” Cox vs cringe Doctor “You’re gay if you don’t like whiskey” Cox
Let’s take that satirical character from that other show and alter it just enough to be legal distinct , but also no longer have the character be satirical and also animated.
