Former Michigan priest sentenced to jail, probation for sexually assaulting altar boy

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A former Ann Arbor and Jackson-area priest who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing an altar boy in the 1980s has been sentenced for his crimes.

Washtenaw County Trial Judge Patrick Conlin Jr. sentenced Timothy Crowley to serve one year in the Washtenaw County Jail and five years of probation Wednesday, Nov. 8, as part of a plea and sentencing agreement.

The sentencing comes after Crowley, 74, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in a plea agreement with prosecutors. Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed.
