Are VPNs effective even against surveillance tools installed at subsea cable stations?
Recently a story published Financial Times revealed that India is installing spyware tools sourced from Israel at the level of subsea cable stations. Considering that all data to and from the country flows through them, I just wanted to know what are possible ways to prevent or reduce snooping in such cases? Are VPNs a good...

Heads up: Piped instances down
Libretube and some Piped frontends are currently down as Google is reportedly “rate limiting” (aka IP banning) these instances according to the Piped Matrix group. A workaround is being implemented, but if you are on Android and are in desperate need of Youtube audio during work like me Newpipe is still running.

OC Alternatives to the Microsoft Suite?
I'm looking for alternatives to the Office suite (including OneDrive), and was curious what you all are using. I'm generally looking to get away from it due to privacy issues with Microsoft. OneDrive is really the biggest issue for me, as I really like the way it integrates with Windows. I'm sort of in the process of switching...
mat2 vs ExifTool
I’ve been using mat2, which is the first recommended option on PrivacyGuides.com, to remove metadata. Is there any drawback to this compared to ExifTool, which is at the bottom of the page? mat2 relies on ExifTool, but only for removing metadata that isn’t a PDF, audio file, image, svg, or video. I usually use mat2 for...
