What's the difference between a Proton Pass email alias and SimpleLogin?

It was my understanding that Proton bought SimpleLogin and would be integrating it into their products, but the aliases created by Proton Pass are not managed by SimpleLogin, correct?

What’s the difference between creating aliases in Proton Pass versus SimpleLogin and how do I manage the aliases created in Proton Pass?

governorkeagan,

Besides what has already mentioned, there also isn’t any way to activate/deactivate an alias via Proton Pass.

kia,

I tested yesterday and if you delete an alias in Proton Pass, it also deletes in SimpleLogin. But, there’s no way to just activate/deactivate from what I can see.

governorkeagan,

Yeah, I’m referring to the second part of your message here. The only time I’m really needing to use SimpleLogin is to deactive aliases

Nelizea,

Sorry for the late reply, however there is a way. When you put an alias into Trash in Proton Pass, the Alias is disabled SL side. If you empty the Trash, the Alias is deleted SL side.

NuVault,

When you create a Proton Pass alias you can manage it using SimpleLogin too, but you can’t see or manage SimpleLogin alias using Proton Pass apps/extensions.

kia,

Ah, okay that makes sense. Thanks!
