I was on reddit for the better part of a decade. It helped me through a lot of challenges, and I even lost my virginity because of the site....

So I was reading a article about the recent shutdown and it mentioned Reddit is Fun still works but you can’t log in… so I logged out of my account and bam everything was working fine. I dont know when it will actually shut down but this is for whoever needs to hear this. Also thank you Lemmy for welcoming us refugees in.

Reddit isn't what it once was, and never will be again.

Best Reddit app i've ever used. You will be sorely missed. Rip RIF and Reddit.

How? Why?...

I’ll replace the icon on my homescreen with a Lemmy app, but I can’t bring myself to fully uninstall RiF....

It was one of the few apps I had on my first ever smart phone. An HTC Inspire. It never left any device I had from then on out. Forgot my old Google account from it and lost my first paid version license. So I bought it again....

I joined reddit when I was 13, I'm 23 now. Reddit is fun was an amazing app, I made a lot of friends, laughed, cried, saw some shit that scarred me for life and I loved it. Its crazy for me because I never realized until now how much of an impact it had on my life. I hope that Lemmy takes off, because I already miss rif. Truly...

Been using RiF ever since I had an Android phone. It's a sad day now...

Created this account just to say thank you RIF team. Been using it for many years to the point where I thought this IS reddit. Sad that they act up now and we're loosing you. Only the best wishes for the team, good luck for your future.

The RIF community persists, even through the end of a wild ride. I'll always remember all the helpful folks that made Reddit enjoyable. Goodbye, old friend. Here's to a new Chapter!

sad to see it go, hope the freakout and holdmy subs come to lemmy… was only thing i really used reddit for. deleted account a year ago cos was tired of appealing bullshit suspensions and bans

The vanced community is now rolling out a Patch do use our own API keys, and so, allow RiF to continue being used on reddit. Any of you tried this yet? (It's 3:25am and i'm on my phone, so i couldt look too much into it)

I’ve used this since the late 2010’s, but I only purchased the golden platinum version on January 2nd, 2020. I’ll never forget you and I’ll never forgive u/Spez from taking you away from me.

Just went to open the app and it force closes, and so ends my chapter of Reddit. Thank you Christian for the most amazing app experience ever.

I remember discovering reddit a dozen years ago or so, and got hooked. At the time, there was no official reddit app, so I looked around at all the apps out there for my android phone, BaconReader, something blue, and then finally settled on RIF as the best experience. At an hour a day, for 12 years, that's 4380 hours I've spent...

I will miss it.

Thanks for making my last 8 years on reddit bearable....
