Looks like this was a solid show. I’m gonna have to start watching NJPW again aren’t I…dammit.

I used to be an every-single-show kinda guy but part-way through the pandemic I fell off to a special-event-only situation, but they’re getting me back. Need to see them keep building up the new generation. Glad to see ZSJ get the belt back off Riddle (who I forget if its clipped above, no sold his way out of the arena after his loss lol), but with the top 2 belts on Mox and Nemeth, 2 gaijin, and with the money woes the company has it feels like they’re choosing to lean on AEW and outsiders a bit while they rebuild. Which I mean…fair is fair, if it helps the company out all the better in the long run, gives time for Shota, Tsuji, Narita etc to build up more.

I just wish Naito had a longer run since this is pretty much guaranteed to have been his last one.

Being a Naito fan means you can never be happy, and in turn he can never be happy. I’ve tried explaining this to my therapist, but she’s not convinced.

Agree on the need to rebuild, they’ve been absolutely raided in the last 12 months. Long term I’m a bit worried that NJPW become a feeder promo for WWE and AEW, but that may be somewhat inevitable given the money both companies have to throw around.

Plus it was just that big time where a lot of people were looking to gtfo out regardless. When the yen is that low, even just doing regular indie bookings could get em more money.

I do enjoy how yanks predominantly say tWOT (as Eddie does in the clip) rather than twAT, and how it’s considered to be considerably more offence than it is in the UK.
