For the Light Dragon to follow the “named after a goddess” pattern, she would need to be named after Hylia … which would also be fitting, considering who she actually IS. But that would probably have been too much of a spoiler, I guess?
Still, something like Hyliana, Lhyana or maybe Hylin would have been nicer than just “Light Dragon”. It’s weird that that this dragon was allegedly floating around the sky over Hyrule for a whole century, yet noone ever gave her a name.
…alternatively, she could have been named after Ordona who, along with “Faron”, “Eldin”, and “Lanayru” was the Light Spirit Guardian of the Ordon Province in Twilight Princess. Not exactly the same as a goddess, but part of a quintet of equally mighty spiritual beings of which 3 are named after the Golden Goddesses already.
Dinraal and Naydra are reminiscent of Din and Nayru which are recurring names of magical beings in the series at least. I don’t know where they got Farosh, and you’d definitely think someone would have given the light dragon a name between when it was first seen and the events of TOTK, just to have something to call it
I get why to disable motion controls and do everything on a straight vertical plain in front of Link, so it’s all aligned, but why stack up, then get on, then break it, jump off, and rebuild it the right way? A comment on the video said that getting on the stick aligns Link to the parts, but shouldn’t they be aligned already from the careful process of taking them out and assembling directly in front?
Cooking with them guarantees a crit, boosting the effect of the other ingredients you mix it with. It’s like cooking with fairies, or in the last half hour before midnight on a blood moon night.
In addition to that, “Baked Golden Apple” is a different dish than just “Baked Apple”, so if you’re someone who wants to complete the recipe section, you have to roast one of those at least once.
It’s not just the last half hour, it’s the hour around midnight,11:30-12:30. Everybody thinks it ends at midnight because there’s the cutscene and then the creepy music notes and wispy malice (or gloom?) effects stop, but you’ve still got thirty golden seconds.
The one inside the Deku Tree is story-relevant, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that one was specifically programmed to NOT respawn. It would be weird for the Deku Tree to fall ill over and over again just because the sentient ulcer inside of him frequently reappears.
All others I’ve found so far seem to regularily respawn tho. If you want to know where their locations are, you can use this map and just scroll all the way down to the “Gloom Spawn” button.
(IIRC it is somewhat random what equipment the Phantom Ganon carries, so it might make sense to savescum until one with a sword shows up. I’m not 100% sure aboutt he randomness tho as I usually avoid those things if I can help it.)
Isn’t the equipment fixed. I also saw one on the way through the korok forest depths and not in the tree. It didn’t respawn either. That or I placed my pin bad
I heard it was allegedly random, but like I said; I can’t really verify it as I’ve been avoiding these Eldritch Horrors whenever possible ^^° Might just be a rumor then. I can test it later tho if you’d want me to.
I’ve done it so many times I know it stays same. Citadel and faron forest have spear ones. Between gerudo and far on there is a club. In hyrule castle chasm their is a spear one. Another club in spring of power i think.
Gloom weapons are decent till you get late midgame loot
Update: The one in the Maritta Exchange Ruins (coordinates: -1781 | 1682 | 0107 according to the interactive map) dropped a Gloom Sword for me right now.
Nintendo joycons are notorious for developing drift over time. It’s probably just a coincidence, but you could always try cleaning them and seeing if that helps.
