Nazi Germany’s approach – what the Germans called “elastic defense” – also differed from Ukraine’s current tactics.
The title appears to be clickbait nonsense, as the article admits a few paragraphs down. My guess is an editor changed the title before publication, the article itself simply goes over different countries’ versions of “active defense”.
Towards the end the article even states Ukraine’s choice is reasonable in the short term.
