Weekly Warframe: Limbo

The magician, master of the Rift, the ZA WARUDO frame - Limbo!

Release date: 2014-10-24

Passive: Limbo has access to the Rift plane, accessible by pressing the Roll keybind.
Banish - Casts a wave of Rift energy that damages hostiles while pushing enemies and allies out of Limbo’s current plane of existence.
Stasis - Freezes Rift-bound enemies. While active, enemy projectiles are arrested in mid-air, resuming its trajectory when stasis ends.
Rift Surge - Surges nearby Rift-bound enemies with Rift energy. When killed the Rift Surge is transferred to a nearby enemy outside the rift. Surged enemies that leave the Rift perform a radial Banish.
Cataclysm - A violent blast of void energy tears open a pocket of rift plane which can sustain itself for a short period before collapsing in another lethal blast.

Acquisition: Main blueprint can be purchased from the Market. Component blueprints are awarded from The Limbo Theorem quest.

AdellcomdoisL,

Limbo is an amazing frame for missions where you have to actually defend something, the issue is that there are very few of that mission type. It doesn’t help that the mission literally named Defense is actually a Secret Extermination and you do not want someone that makes it harder to kill enemies there.

Even then for excavations and the like you run the risk of an eximus just murdering the objective regardless

I mentioned before that Limbo is my nr.1 frame I would like to see reworked. It’s pretty clear his kit just doesn’t align with how DE wants their game to be played. He is the ultimate feast-or-famine frame, either an absolute god untouchable by anything, or a paper thin magic man that cannot accomplish anything. He’s gotten noticeably worse since the Eximus rework, but it’s not like there weren’t plenty of random enemies that just straight up ignored his entire mechanic before. The big problem is that his whole core mechanic, Rift, is really disruptive to gameplay. Being able to arbitrarily phase objectives or allies into a whole another plane, making them untouchable, is broken. But allowing enemies to ignore the Rift leads to it being useless, as they can strike you in the Rift while you cannot hit them back without leaving the safety of your pocket plane. I don’t know how to fix Limbo without completely scrapping his entire identity, but the poor magic man needs a touch-up.

Dude got dumpstered after the eximus rework. Only useful for excavation now, and even then not great. Really sad, he was one of my favorites

I love Limbo’s looks and his power fantasy, but I’m having a hard time finding a use case for him nowadays. Xaku breaks containers more comfortably than he does, and on defense he feels way too squishy.

limbo combos well with mesa because regulators arent affected by limbo’s abilities. ez duo to clean up defense missions with an unscathed objective.

I like having a max range limbo and a minimum range limbo so folks are less bothered by my rifted enemies. either everything is rifted or only the objective is.

Limbo was the first frame that I got really excited by, because his abilities are weird and complex. That led me into more deeply reading about each frame on the wiki and helped me appreciate every frame’s complexity.
