2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
I expected an excellent shave today, but this one surprised me. I think it’s all due to the soap.
First, the Morado scent is woody but not dark or heavy. It is nice and intriguing. Like all SV soaps the scent blend is very well done. I am certain that if I used this for a month I would find some new subtlety in the scent each day.
I gained a lot of experience with the SV Beta 4.3 soap base last year. Today I decided to load very heavily and to stop a little short on hydration. Normally, I push this to the point where lather almost slides down the face, but today I stopped at the point where it washed cleanly off the razor. The face-feel was incredible and this carried on to post-shave. Whatever skin food is in the soap and splash gave my BBS shave a very unique finish.
As it is Saturday, and I will only be futzing around the house, there was no need for a fragrance or for talc. I felt that this shave merited that finish somehow.
Spicy Scrooge is me too me. I’ve had it sit in my den a while but forgot to try it (yeah, I know). The scent surge really well alongside Old Spice and 3 Scots.
