fuck i relate to all of this. i can’t turn it off most of the time.

i like to feel competant at my job and despite it being a fuck i mostly try to do good work so my co-workers don’t get screwed over.

when i was a manager it was my only real standing rule: basically solidarity or else, fuck the company, look out for each other

but even after i switched positions it’s the same. case counts/hr, no time for anything, doing a 50/hr a week job in 40. getting bitched at about OT. it’s been hard but lately if my trucks are too big (say a 4 to 5 hr truck) and i was only able to get started 3 hrs before shift over i just have to walk away.

everything is so intense i can’t even talk to anyone and probably come across as an asshole. there should be reasonable slack in jobs, people should have time to dick around. otherwise when things pick up or something goes wrong there is no give at all. but as well all know the squeeze is here and it’s only going to get tighter and tighter to get every second of wrung out.

it also makes my ADHD go crazy but partly it helps me with insane multitasking sometimes. but yeah humans aren’t meant to work like this. i’d love to have a future socialist utopia job where everything is worked slowly, safely and deliberately because there are no “labor costs” and we are all working large meaningful megaprojects or supporting those projects to save the future. a world of “road crews” as in 3 people watching 1 person work and then taking turns lol or for the workhorses just short 20 hr weeks so we dont burn out

i read the article and here’s my anecdotal experience to back up the conclusions:

i started using cannabis again after a 10 year break. i was a daily user who didn’t start until my 20s so it didn’t impact my brain development that badly.

so firstly i’m neurodivegent and have always had trouble with outward displays of empathy. using cannabis allows me to engage in conversation fluidly and deeply about more emotional topics as well as work to resolve conflicts. it’s socially lubricating but not in a dis inhibiting way.

also as a trans woman that’s not yet on HRT, it allows me to enter a more feminine headspace. in fact it has always done this and was one of the main reasons i was attracted to it despite not completely enjoying the high when i was younger.

i call it “cognitive transitioning”, basically a taste of what’s to come when i get my hormones right with HRT.

this is where i am now. it’s the sort of revelation that has finally put me in an “eyes on the prize” mode.

i can’t go back to my twenties. i’m never going to be big titty goth girl i wish i could have been when the egg exploded in my early twenties.

i saw some pics of older people transitioning before and after. older then me (i’m an elder millennial). one before and after she went from early 50s dad to early 50s mom with bangs with her wife and happy. i’d be happy to just look like somebody’s “vaguely goth mom” who also looks like she lifts weights professionally. there’s no way HRT is going to vaporize all my muscle mass. even at my most twink when i was younger i still had/have a big frame and the body of a football player

so i’m going to be a vaguely goth muscle mommy and that is super cool.
