Interesting. Genuine question, what are the main reasons for limiting the power? Is it due to safety?, managing costs? Theoretically, with so few engines allowed per season now, wouldnt it curb alot of the stuff that was happening with insane qualifying trims in the 80’s as an example?
If a group were to go and fork it, and start developing independent from the original devs, they would still be able to interact with Lemmy right? (unless they can block eachtother?), but if any existing communities wanted to move over, they would basically have to start again from scratch because the fork isn’t Lemmy anymore
Oh okay - I didn’t know about the interaction with different software. Had heard of Kbin before (haven’t yet heard of any of the others), and just assumed it was a completely different type of thing like Mastodon.
That’s pretty cool. How does the interaction with (for example Kbin) work? Can we see their communities, and interact with their posts and vice-versa?
WOW! Thank you for all that knowledge :) The relationships between the different instances, and how they work together suddenly makes sense - seems pretty simple when you break it down like that lol.
Do you think there could ever be a “perfect” solution to this problem? Or due to how this whole Federation thing works with all these different instances, is this just a limitation that can only get better to a point?
Just tuned into the Lakers game, and enjoying the grizzlies greyscale court. Didn’t realize they did it. Last I saw it was when the Nets first brought it out.
I’m a fan whenever I see a game on such a court every now and again. Makes the players really pop.
I never really equated anything. I was more referring to the fact that he has so many incidents now, regardless of however they are “graded” on severity by anyone.
Also, I just read your comment and had another look at the video again, and to me, whatever the lead up to the incident (with them being tangled/fighting for position) it looks to me that he makes a conscious effort to hook the neck, or at least prevent it from happening.
Plus it’s to the neck/head area. Sports around the world are really clamping down on that kind of stuff, leading to players having to consciously avoid any such contact even if accidental.
