Psynthesis,

It’s very censored in media outlets, but many report “b*****d” and you can see her face by the “d” at the end of the word. Likely says bastard.

Psynthesis,

Antix is a fantastic Debian based , lightweight distro. I’ve ran it on a 32bit processor with 512 MB ram

Psynthesis,

The record is for panel efficiency, whereas the 28%, 32.5%, and 47.6% values you refer to are about solar cell efficiency. energytheory.com/solar-cell-vs-solar-panel/

Looking to make the switch

Hi everyone, looking to make the switch from windows. I’m reasonably technically apt but not a programmer by any means. I’ve been doing some homework on which distro I would like to use and pop_os kinda feels like the right direction. I’m running an Nvidia 3060TI on a Ryzen 5600 chip set on an Asus tuf motherboard. Any...

Psynthesis,

There is a section here on dual booting using systemd boot. Never used it, but it will hopefully work in your case, or at least point you the right way.https://ostechnix.com/dual-boot-windows-and-p…

Country music recommendations

What country music would you recommend to someone who wants to listen to some country that isn’t bro/truck country? I know not all country music is Like That but unfortunately at the moment that’s most of my experience with the genre and I want to broaden my horizons. Maybe some good gothic country or bluegrass suggestions?...

Psynthesis,

Sons Of Perdition is a good dark/gothic county. youtu.be/dltCg75ZumI?si=UkVMcB906b1ajF3ZI also like Nick 13, he is the lead singer/songwriter and guitarist of the psychobilly band Tiger Army. He did some solo country stuff. youtu.be/HtYGegYvGZg?si=CvdkxAbqIbNq5fzG

Psynthesis,

Have you checked this? wiki.debian.org/NVIDIA OptimusI have never needed to mess with dual gpus, but this should hopefully help with your current distro. If you use another distro, you are still going to have to search how to use hybrid graphics on it. So if you’re happy with Debian, try the guide. Before jumping to another distro, research /look into what that would take to get running before you jump.

Psynthesis,

What laptop is it? On some, not many, you can remove the dgpu. If you can access the bios, it wouldn’t hurt to see if you can set priority order for the gpu used. What do you mean you can’t get past choosing the installation medium? To me that means the usb, iso, etc you are using. I’m probably misunderstanding you, but do you mean selecting the medium in the bios boot screen? Or have you gotten to the part where grub shows up and you can select install. If it’s the bios bit, have you turned off secure boot? If it’s after selecting install arch in the grub menu, wait a tiny bit for everything to load and try pressing ctrl-alt-F3. Doesn’t have to be F3 you can try all the “F” keys. This will switch to a different tty to try and see if the default one is being weird Though I doubt that will help, but worth a shot. If you can get to grub have you tried to disable the kernel module that loads for the dgpu? You should be able to press “e” to go to the bit you can edit stuff in grub. Check out this and see if it helps wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_module#Using_kern…Best of luck!

Psynthesis,

Fantastic!!!

Psynthesis,

The Amish are not a monolith. You’d have to look into the various groups to get your answer, and it won’t apply to all of them. And some do use power on the grid, while others like the Old Order Amish don’t use it apart from maybe some battery operated lights for night work or portable fans. I doubt an internal grid is used in most if not all places considering that, while many do not mind use of electricity, it’s still used in relative moderation.

Where Are All The Bicycles?? (startrek.website)

I have an issue in general with scifi totally ignoring the existence of bicycles, but star trek is particularly fun to think about since in so many situations beaming down in an away team with electric mountain bicycles would be incredibly useful in a basic utilitarian sense. Like shuttles, bicycles could be treated as...

Psynthesis,

I never thought of that before, but I agree. Also, now all I can imagine is Riker walking up behind a bicycle and just effortlessly gliding onto the seat, swinging his leg gracefully.
