Linux vs Windows - Vermintide 2 and Doom Eternal (video.hardlimit.com)

A request that was asked since these games apparently run better on Windows. Vermintide 2 is about 20% faster on Linux and Doom Eternal about 20% faster on Windows.

The latest feature of Windows (at least in Greece) requires you to wait for 30 mins before you boot in for the first time. XD (discuss.tchncs.de)

Just finished benchmarking. Vermintide 2 is about 15% faster on Linux while Doom Eternal is about 25% faster on Windows. I will have the video up as soon as it renders. :)

I just installed the systems and followed the normal procedure of what any normal user would do. If you can’t deal with the facts that’s your problem.

Your doubts re completely unfounded. Linux was set up in 5 mins, I just installed OpenSUSE, installed Steam and ran the games, since the AMD/Intel drivers are included in the kernel.

On Windows I had to set up for like 45 mins until the installation and all the updates and drivers were done.

I literally installed the system and Steam and ran the games. Linux is easier than you think with an AMD GPU. AMD Drivers are not even needed.

OP of the original video here. Wait till you see the Nvidia Optimus results. Even I was dumbdfounded by them. Windows is SOOOO bloated it’s thermal throttling like no tomorrow on my laptop. Linux is about 20% faster even on Nvidia. XD

Nvidia SUCKS!

I am trying to repeat my 10 Benchmarks video on my 3080M laptop, which I haven’t really used for a while apart from testing NVK. I had forgotten just HOW much Nvidia sucks. I had to reinstall the OS cause OpenSUSE stopped booting after I installed the drivers the first time. X11 is ALSO buggy on Nvidia and crashes randomly....

Nvidia won’t go above 80W cause the drivers are bugged. Still, decent showing. Next video will be Linux vs Windows on the 3080M, last one of this benchmarking series.

A video for any doubters that Linux gaming is better than Windows in which it DESTROYS Windows by 25% in AC Odyssey. To put it in perspective, 25% improvement is like getting a new GPU. You can save $600 and instead use something like OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for free....
