We are working on improving load balancing today and distributing the instance across multiple servers. As a result, you may see some timeouts, thank you for your patience.
SDF is my favorite instance hands off, but I noticed it's way slower for me than other instances with inferior setup. I measured the time of loading posts and communities, and it's loading around 3-4 times slower than other instances. I am based in EU. Regardless, I will continue to use it, as I love you all here on SDF :)...

Could the Meta NDA be used as a trojan horse? Anything Meta discloses to a developer/admin could be legally used against them if they acted upon the information. Not just leak of information shared, but modifications to Mastodon or Pixelfed that go against Meta's pursuit of success in the Fediverse....
So, Last year I lost my vintage computers (most of them a work in progress) in a house fire. I’ve started rebuilding my collection. I’ve got my TI-83+ still, I consider that to be one. It was with me when the fire happened, and I have an old windows 95 computer I got my hands on, still not sure what to do with him yet. Ideas...
The NABU computer is a great deal. You can buy one directly from [www.pellmill.com](Pell Mill) and with efforts made by DJ Sures and others at nabu.ca there is a thriving infrastructure and community around it. Its z80 based and capable of running CP/M. From there you can run the MSX emulator and play many MSX games.
Surely an instance that is growing at the rate this one is will incur a rise in operation costs. I'd venture a guess that required administration time also will rise....
We just made it past 1000 signups this morning. Nearly everyone joining had very thoughtful and meaningful explanations of why they want to try using this instance. It is an amazing time for the internet and we truly appreciate SDF being a part of this.
