The Mac Portable VGA Out board V1 is done:
https://androda.work/product/vga-adapter-for-macintosh-portable/

The listing is up but there's very minimal stock available from the fist test run. Will get another production run going soon.

On BlueSCSI Desktop inventory status, I have a smaller shipment of PCBs which should be here Thursday-ish. I'll try to plan ahead better for next year, seems all the supply lines grind to a halt around CNY.

Upcoming Product Notes:

Products Update:

  • Mac Portable Switchable RAM Card is back in low quantity stock. Some of them worked and others did not, and I need to figure that out.

  • Mac Portable Battery Eliminator has tested successfully on my M5120. Can boot and work with an original hard drive and floppy, or obviously also with a BlueSCSI replacement. Product listing coming soon.

  • HIDHopper ADB needs an update, the PCB dimensions were a little off. But functionally it's working.

TechByAndroda,

@paulrickards What are the issues or symptoms?

TechByAndroda,

@paulrickards If you did all the standard recapping, visible trace patching, and swapped the hybrid, then it becomes a lot more likely this system has a dead power manager chip or eaten internal PCB traces.

A power manager chip failure has no solution currently, and finding hidden eaten PCB traces is a time consuming process. At least the schematic is available for the M5120.

Late Year Hardware News:

BlueSCSI isn't the only hardware project I support. Three product updates are as follows:

  • A Mac Portable Battery Eliminator has been designed which uses supercapacitors. No more lead acid batteries to bother with.

  • The Mac Portable RAM Card has been updated to include switches on the PCB, no more bodge wiring necessary.

  • A new product line called HIDHopper is in prototyping, for adapting USB input deices to vintage interfaces.

Not sure how this became my job now

TechByAndroda,

@jcs Be careful, other physical / hardware projects might start falling out of the sky into your schedule. That's how it went for me anyway.

Desktop with Initiator Mode Support is in stock now:

Initiator Mode support for is on the way:
https://androda.work/bluescsi-initiator-mode-and-stock-update/

Initiator Mode allows you to directly take a disk image from a SCSI drive without needing a host system (Mac, PC, Atari, DEC, whatever).

Naturally you still need a power supply for the SCSI drive and BlueSCSI, like old ATX supply or similar. (BlueSCSI can't power a 3.5 inch SCSI drive).

The newer, smaller V2 DB25 is now announced. It's 32% smaller, with termination always enabled.

I come to you respectfully with a request to help our friend Kai Robinson. He's been through multiple layoffs this year and could use some help.

The Mac Portable RAM Card is back in stock! Bigger order this time, should be available a lot longer. :)

The Macintosh Portable Hybrid Module Recreation is now back in stock with a significant price cut since I no longer have to manually assemble all the little SMD components!

If your Portable won't start after capacitor replacement, or won't regulate the 5v rail properly, this might be the product for you.
