I have decent alternatives for just about everything I might've been getting from loblaw's before the boycott.

I'll be moving close to a Farm Boy (produce store). A health food store will also be close.

A quick bus ride will take me to a dollar store for household cleaning supplies and miscellaneous other items.

The alternatives are out there, for many people, at least.

Is it a little more effort? Sure, but there are savings to be found too.

People are sharing info. That's good.

We are the product. We are a collection of marketable data points.

And we've been convinced that we all need to sell ourselves. That we need to have a "personal brand" and network and all of that stuff.

We're already being bought and sold, umpteen times a day, every day.

The people doing the buying and selling have convinced us to pay for the privilege on top of it all.

There are more leaks of personal data every day... too many to keep track of as a regular individual. The scale is ridiculous.

We're going to be going back to a world where everyone in town knows everyone else's business. Going back three generations, at least.

Instead of blaming it on gossipy Aunt Shirley, it'll be due to it all being on the web.

Aunt Shirley's emotional blackmail and other manipulations will be replaced by more sophisticated extortion and exploitation, at scale.

I'm lucky that I have work benefits that give me some perks, like some travel insurance, etc.. But it has occurred to me, that it'd be nearly impossible to get more insurance, what with my various medical ailments.

Travel insurance, disability insurance, life insurance... all pretty well out of the question now, beyond whatever I already have.

It's actually easier to get insurance for a nuclear power plant. Via Lloyd's of London or something.

This makes me feel like an edgy person now.

A good news medical toot, for once.

Follow-up lab test results came back and… I don’t have diabetes.

I’m not even pre-diabetic.

The earlier test results were a blip.

I can breathe easy about that one.

The marmalade moron is babbling and blathering... who knows how long his speech will last, but I turned it off.

He may have nothing but a blob of jello left where a brain ought to be. But it likely won't make a difference to his fanatical followers.

Just gotta hope enough sensible people get the vote out in the fall.

Someone texted me out of the blue just to check on me while I'm off work for a few days.

I'm doing a combo of vacation, apartment decluttering/packing, and appointments this week.

It's always nice to hear from someone unexpectedly.

Reach out and say hi to that friend who you haven't seen in a while.

Is a slice of pizza ok?

Probably sugar in the dough?

I'm having pizza, to heck with it... if my blood levels spike and that's how I end it all, then so be it. I'm hungry, dammit.

I think I'm becoming convinced that I won't pass away from cancer directly, or from any primary illness...

I think complications are how I'll go. Like unexpectedly.

I'll just be minding my own business, living my life, feeling ok, and be gone an hour later from some weird infection or a heart attack.

Well, we never really know when our number is going to come up...

I could eat a salad with food poisoning in it and be gone.

It's a pretty dangerous world. No one gets out alive.
