@twilliability @kimhu you would need a Bluesky account. It is federated, but not in a way that it is compatible with Mastodon. They're using a proprietary protocol.

    Went to a corn maze today and it was definitely an interesting experience. It had binary games and trivia and old computers and felt like the right place to be on the weekend before Halloween.

    Why do I dislike going to the grocery store so much? The store's only a 5 minute drive away and I'm in and out in, like, 15-20 minutes, but it still feels like the biggest annoyance. I even go during the day when no one else is there!

    @starshaped I got one of the Flair espresso makers a while back. It is a bit more work so that I don't use it terribly often, but nice for a weekend fancy coffee. Packs up small so I can stow it away when not using it.

    Today marks 6 years at my current employer. It does not seem like a lot in the larger scope, but is the longest I have been at any one company professionally. Considering I am still content in what I do says a lot. I don't have a lot of impact on the world as a whole, but there is definitely some joy in knowing that my work makes at least one person's experience better in some way.

    I will add that this is the first place where I felt I had an impact. Previously I was more of a cog. I was hired to be part of a new design system team. I never considered I would eventually be leading the team and be involved in so many aspects of what happens here.

    It has been quite the journey of making mistakes, learning, and finding solutions. The work is not yet (and never will be) done.

    @starshaped it is. This place has changed a lot in that time. Still had that startup-y feel at the time. 20 or so devs working on all of it. Now there are at least 3x that many teams.

    The number of teams my team has to support is kinda crazy.

    Just watched the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (S2, E9). It was a banger. I was expecting it to be a lot more gimmicky considering it was a musical episode.

    These last 2 episodes were so wonderful. I don't know how they expect stick the landing with the season finally next week.
