I definitely have been! I'm mostly active in !wow and !pokemon right now, trying to branch out and do more across the website Fediverse. :)

aRatherDapperFox,

Isn't it wonderful?

aRatherDapperFox,

First, I love your username.

Second, both of those sound intriguing. I'll be signing up for PixelFed for sure.

aRatherDapperFox, (edited )

Just gotta figure out how best to direct people with the federation and server load issues before then. Should be fun!

EDIT: To clarify, this is not sarcasm. I'm genuinely excited to be a part of this!

aRatherDapperFox,

The ability to interact across platforms is pretty incredible. I've been looking into other fediverse platforms since my introduction to Lemmy -- thank you Reddit! 🥰

KBin looks interesting. I'm familiar with Mastodon, but before looking into Lemmy I never really understood what it meant that it was "federated". Tell me more about Friendica, please? If you don't mind, that is.

aRatherDapperFox,

Personally, so far I adore it. It doesn't scratch that... Endless content consumption itch that Reddit did. There are a lot less users, so there's a lot less "fresh" content piling up on my home feed for me to scroll through and huff air out my nose at.

It's been a bit of an adjustment, but now that I'm more used to it it's definitely a welcome change. I find myself actively engaging more instead of just scrolling by, contributing instead of lurking.

Welcome to Lemmy!

aRatherDapperFox,

There are a lot less people on here, but I feel a lot more keyed in and engaged with the communities I am a part of on here. It's nice!

It does not surprise me in the least to find out this meme has been done before, but I actually made this lol. I wish I had seen it on the Fediverse Twitter clone, then I would've screenshotted the "Tweet" and posted the screenshot and we really WOULD be kinda full circle there.

aRatherDapperFox,

Fediverse clone of iFunny when?

help me choose my next distro

I'm resetting windows 10 on my Thinkpad T580 for work but would like to create a partition for linux. It's an older laptop and really chugs through games like Minecraft or RuneScape but I enjoy playing relaxing games while I listen to audiobooks at night. I grew up using windows which is why I've mostly used Ubuntu and ZorinOS...

aRatherDapperFox,

My vote goes to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. It's a beautiful system, and the most stable rolling release I've ever had the pleasure of running. I've tried so many different distros, and I always end up coming back to OpenSUSE.

aRatherDapperFox,

Skyrim, hands down. I own that game... Let's see, 360, PS3, PC, PC Special Edition, 4 times. I own that game 4 times and have been playing it on and off (more on than off) since it came out. Never even gotten halfway through the main questline.

aRatherDapperFox,

Do you happen to have a link to said evidence? I'd love to review it, myself.

aRatherDapperFox,

So your "evidence" is 4 different links from a "competing" platform, all of which should be considered "one source" not multiple individual sources, one of which is a user post with no actual evidence shown or linked -- at least not in the body of the post, I didn't care to follow through checking the comments -- and an article from... Vice.

Not exactly what I would call reputable sources. I'm not DENYING what you're saying, I just don't see any specific evidence to support your claim. Just... Be mindful of what you're using as "source material" when you claim there's evidence.

aRatherDapperFox,

I used PlayOnLinux exclusively a few years ago. It serves the same function as Lutris, essentially, but Lutris tends to be... Better, and easier to work with in my experience.

aRatherDapperFox,

I couldn't get Minigalaxy to install any of my games when I tried it a year or so ago. I ended up just using Heroic Games Launcher and linking my GoG account to that, works like a charm.

aRatherDapperFox,

Frog's Theme slaps. Honestly, the whole soundtrack for this game is incredible.

aRatherDapperFox,

Or the shareholders consider every potential ¢ left on the table (no matter why) the same as losing that money, no matter how much money they're already making. Que that song from The Greatest Showman:

🎶 All the shine of a thousand spotlights

🎵 All the stars we steal from the nightsky

🎶 Will never be enough

🎵 Never be enough

🎶 Towers of gold are still too little

🎵 These hands could hold the world but it'll

🎶 Never be enough

🎵 Never be enough

aRatherDapperFox,

Let's be real, it's not even that the changes will lose corporations money, it's that the changes will lower their disgustingly bloated earnings by a marginal amount that makes them panic.

aRatherDapperFox,

I've yet to start using it myself, but I've seen Bluesnews suggested a lot! Apparently he's old blood in the gaming news reporting area, and it's been run by this one guy since it's inception in 1996. It's very active still, constantly reporting. Link: https://www.bluesnews.com/

aRatherDapperFox,

What a great set of resources! Especially GoL for us Linux gamers. Thanks for the callout!

aRatherDapperFox,

This looks like a very interesting project! But it looks like it's still in pre-alpha. That's not a bad thing, it's just important to note for anyone thinking of trying it so they don't get the wrong idea about the state of the game. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it!

aRatherDapperFox,

True enough, but this project has a pretty clear roadmap with planned features laid out and the developers themselves raised the concern of giving new players the wrong idea in their FAQs about a Steam release.

I'll definitely be checking it out for myself, though.

aRatherDapperFox,

Beasts of Maravilla Island! I got it in a Humble Bundle recently. I didn't intend to play it, but I got bored of everything in my library one night and started rolling through the games I got in that bundle.

It's a fun game in the same vein as Pokémon Snap. You are the granddaughter of an explorer, headed out to photograph the wildlife of an island he discovered. The story is short and sweet, and the environments are plenty of fun to explore! The creature designs are cute. Best of all, the price is right. It's only $10 on Steam, now that the bundle is gone.
