Sometimes I wonder why I still call myself a christian...
I barely go to church, and when I do i end up falling asleep half the time
I don't volunteer with the youth group anymore
the only thing I do is I play music with the worship band (which I only do because I happen to like playing music)
I don't think I could ever abandon my religion, but it certainly is drifting away from me.
I wonder if @akioogaki has any advice? maybe i'm just going to the wrong church, but i could never come out as trans there. I don't think anyone would accept me (so much for "love your neighbor...")
@ChloeCat This is a struggle I understand well. I spent a decade away from church and very inactive outside of occasional prayers due to LGBTQ+ hatred by churches and Christians in general.
Are you happy at the church you're at, or just going through the motions? If the latter is the case, your church family there may unfortunately not be your permanent home. It sucks to realize this. The last church before my hiatus, I have one person I still talk with, an older gentleman whose granddaughter is also trans.
Finding a genuinely welcoming church is hard, but reaching out to any transfeminine Christian in your area can be a great start. That's how I found my current church family.
I'll lastly note that very few churches truly follow the commandments, let along the teachings of Jesus. If they did, they'd remember that Jesus welcomed all of us.
I wish you the best in this journey, and invite you to request my Discord if you need further support.
